We welcome new members from all cycling backgrounds and experience levels.

All prospective members must complete an introductory training ride before signing up via British Cycling.

12 months of membership is £30

How do I become a member?

  • To join the club, you must first complete an introductory skills session prior to having your membership application accepted. This ensures that all new members are familiar with our procedures and can ride in a group with a level of competency, confidence and safety.

  • Existing riders and new riders alike will be able to sample the club through three rides before deciding whether or not to become a member of the Cycling Club.

  • For new joiners your three ride trial period will begin after you have completed your introductory ride. The introductory new joiner ride does not count as one of these three rides.

  • This will be effective from end of January 2025.

Once you have attended the introductory sessions, you can join the club by applying and paying the membership fee on the British Cycling website.

Our membership secretary will process your application and be in touch to welcome you to the club. This usually takes a week, so please be patient.

Does Membership Include British Cycling Membership?

No, club membership doesn't include British Cycling membership. You will need to join British Cycling and pay their membership fee. You will receive 40% discount on their Ride level of membership once you have sign up and joined The OSSV Cycling Club. This provides £20m third-party insurance for club rides, leisure rides and sportives.

Is The OSSV Cycling Club for both men and women?

The OSSV Cycling Club is proud to welcome both men and women to the club. We aim to provide an inclusive and encouraging environment for riders of all levels, from people who are looking to join a club for the first time, to more experienced riders looking for their next challenge.
